Psst...

Someone's about to become a big sister!

What a blessing this is!

I am currently 12 wks. pregnant. I am not sure if all pregnancies are meant to be different. During my pregnancy with Ili I felt great through most of it's course. This pregnancy is honestly a different experience. I am not feeling too good and the Dr. says it's all due to this little being growing inside my tummy. I get a lot of nausea and even dizzy at times. Thank god I am not vomiting cause then I would totally be a miserable girl! I am also extremely tired and lose my appetite quite frequently. I am hoping that there are but a few weeks left of this cause chasing a toddler isn't easy! ;)

The Dr. says that the baby is measuring well and has a good strong heartbeat. He/She is expected to arrive some time in April. The initial due date was April 1 (April Fool's Day) but now it is looking more like April 12 (Easter!). Wouldn't it be awesome if that were the case? Both my kiddos would have holiday birthdays? Nuts!!

Telling our Folks!

We brainstormed a fun and creative way to tell our parents of the news. We decided a slide show of our recent trip to the beach would work best and totally catch the families off guard. Below is a similar version to our video! (The original is too large of a file to add here.) :(

6 Wonderful Years

On the weekend of July 26, 2003 Philip and I joined our lives in holy matrimony. Since then I became a teacher, a home owner and most importantly a Mother. It has been one heck of a ride, and I have enjoyed every bit of it.

To celebrate our anniversary, Philip made reservations for us to stay at the Grand Hyatt hotel. We had a nice room with a view of the city sky line. We quickly changed into our swimsuits and headed for the pool. Much to our surprise it was indeed a lovely but very over crowded pool. We decided for a quick dip and headed on back to our room. Upon arriving, Philip had prepared a beautiful cheese tray and chilled wine. What a nice surprise! "How did he know I was starving?!!" That's what 6 years together will do to you. ;)

We ate a little and then off for our dinner reservations at Zocca. It is on the quieter side of the Riverwalk, thus less tourists and much more romantic. (sidenote: if you are ever looking for a different Italian restaurant off of the Riverwalk, this is the place to be!) Our dinner was AMAZING!!! I ordered the Tagliattelle which is lump crab with pasta in a lemon garlic parsley sauce. I would tell you what Philip had if I had paid enough attention but I was too focused on how scrumptious mine was. Sorry! I can still taste the huge amounts of crab! Yummmm!! For dessert our sweet waiter brought out the most exquisite dessert. It was a chocolate cake with delicious raspberries and sauce.

After a delicious meal and 2 bottles of wine later we went for a walk downtown. We stopped at the Swigs Martini bar for a few drinks while we waited for Irma/Gabe to meet us. I can't remember the last time we had gone out downtown. Once they arrived we went to the V Bar for some drinks and dancing.

It was such an awesome night! We had a ton of fun with our friends who have been with us since Philip and I began our relationship. Most importantly, Philip and I reconnected. There isn't anything I love more than waking up to his wonderful face.

From tadpole to froggy

My how much you have changed my sweet little Ili.

It is amazing to see how much you have grown and learned in such a short amount of time. Thank you for being my sweet princess. I love to hear the sound of your voice as you say Mama when I walk into your room each morning. You are such a loving little girl. From the day we heard your little heartbeat and watched you flutter on the screen we knew that our lives would be changing. Thank you.
Love,
Mommy

Happy Birthday Silly Ili

Our Little Iliana turned the big 1 yr. on 4th of July. What a little fire cracker!!!

We celebrated her birthday with a "small" party full of frogs, balloons, food and fun. It was so neat to see how excited she was to see all her guests. She loved all the balloons that hung on her chair and entry way. Every chance she got she tried to pull them off.

The craftiness in me may have gone just a little overboard for this special day. I made Iliana a tutu and shirt for her birthday suit. I made koozies for the guys to keep their beer cold in. I even made goody boxes filled with lots of Mexican candy, frog beach balls, and balloons for the kids and smaller goody bags for the adults. I even made a wreath for our door in the theme of the party! Whew! That's a lot of work!!!

We rented a huge water slide for the kids and had a smaller pool for the little ones. They were a hit!!! The kids could not get enough of the slide even though I thought it was rather high for some of them.

I had asked Philip's dad to sing Las Mananitas to Ili and he proudly accepted. One week prior to the event he and Philip began practicing for their big musical number. They practiced and practiced until they had it down. The big day arrived and I think it was the most special part of the party. Iliana was totally engaged in the excitement. Listening to her Grandpa sing and her Daddy play the trumpet got her so excited she cheered them on by clapping and screaming, "yeah". Just adorable!!!

The pinata was Ili's gift from my parents and as you can see it was ENORMOUS!!! Ili didn't care much for it as it was pretty hot out and all she wanted to do by this time was get in a little nap. The kids sure did give it a good beating, though!

After bashing the heck out of the poor Kermit the Girl frog pinata we went inside to cool down and open up presents and eat cake. Iliana received tons of adorable outfits and this super cute Build-A-Bear Frog in a 4th of July outfit complete with sandals while holding a cupcake. Does that not fit the occasion just perfect?

The cake was a gift from my Tia Aurora. We are so glad she offered to make it. My Aunt is truly a professional and this gift makes her birthday that much more special. I think it turned out just beautiful and best of all, it was all CHOCOLATE! Yummy!!!

"Uncle" Jeff and Kristi were able to arrive just in time for the fireworks. To think they left their own 4th of July party full of guests in their own home just to be with Iliana is just priceless. What great friends they are! Thanks again guys!!

While it is customary for the fireworks display to be part of every Infurchia Party, we didn't think it responsible to break the law on this extremely dry summer day. Instead we headed out to the front yard and enjoyed The Club of Sonterra's fireworks show. I think everyone was much happier with that.

Isn't this little guy just the cutest?

Ili's Party Preparations

Our little Iliana is growing at record speed! We are reaching the day for her 1st birthday. I have been planning her party for months. The theme is obvious as it has been her entire life. ;) Maybe after her 1st birthday we will go with another theme; who am I kidding I love frogs too much!

So anyway I have been working on Iliana's invitations for her 1st birthday. I still can't believe she is just weeks away from being 12 months old. Wasn't it just yesterday when I was waddling across Wanke Elem.???

I am trying to get a little more creative with stamping and scrapbooking. I have been learning a few new techniques from this awesome blog I found here. She has some really cute videos and ideas for any and every ocassion. I am juggling the idea of an ETSY shop for handmade crafts; diaper cakes, invitations, thank you notes, etc... Please post some feedback.
