Fooooooooddddd

Iliana has been eating solid foods for a few weeks now. We started her on rice cereal, then moved her onto oatmeal (her favorite). We are now on real foods. She loves it. She looks so cute when she opens her little mouth and follows the spoon. Sometimes I take too long and she ends up sucking the food off her little table. Oops! I wanted to post these pics to show you how self- sufficient she is.

It's like she is telling me, "don't worry Mommy, I got the dribble."

*Tip: for a strong hold use squash instead of hairspray or hair gel. It really holds! ;)
Let's just say that after each feeding we end up in the bathtub.

Babysitting

So I recently joined our neighborhood BINGO group. Yes I am a proud member of the Brannan Bluff Bingo Babes club. We get together once a month to eat/drink and then play some serious bingo for 2 hours. I know what you are probably thinking...."BORING!" LOL! But I must admit we really have a great time socializing, eating and drinking. We trade off on hosting and this last month we decided to just go out for dinner, drinks, and gifts.

Here we are at BJ's Brewhouse! Yummm-O!

Ili stayed home with her Daddy for some "quality time". I went off to begin my evening around 7 p.m. and came home at 10:30 p.m. When I returned this is how I found my little munchkin:

Notice the bib around her neck...
and the missing sock above her head.
The whole time I was out I kept thinking to myself, "I hope she doesn't give him a hard time." I knew her bedtime would be hard because she usually breastfeeds before bedtime. It turns out that Ili was in bed by 8:30 p.m. and hadn't woken up!!! Geez! He only babysat for an hour and a half!!!! If only she was that nice to me...leave it to Daddy.

The Clipping of her Little Tail

On Sunday we baptized Iliana. It was at St. Brigid Catholic Church. We were so proud and happy for our little girl. Todd and Nikki were her godparents. It was so nice to see our closest friends and family present to share in the experience. There were 3 other children to be baptized but Ili was the only girl. Overall she did pretty good except her trying to scream out an Amen during the ceremony. Afterwards we held a reception at our home. We had TONS of food. We had cheese balls, veggies, taquitos, chips and queso, tamales, rice, beans, guacamole, hot sauce and mexican lemonade. Oh and of course LOTS of beer. The proud godparents
Todd and Nikki Wyatt.
So many cameras that we weren't
able to face the same direction together.Sadly I was too busy playing hostess to take many pictures.
This is all I got.

I was able to get one with all our nieces.
Finally!!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

So every year Philip and I make a trip to the southside to Arbolitos de Navidad to buy our live Christmas tree. Why the southside? They seem to have the least expensive taller ones and Philip gets a high from negotiating. hee hee! This year we bought the most perfect tree yet. It is an 8 ft. tall Philip sets it up and I add lights, lights, and more lights. I think this year I added about 1000 lights. Yup it lights up the entire house! Here are some pics.

My strong husband.

Smile!

Tadaaa!

Silly Ili

Just a few pics of Ili and her silliness.

Ready for bed.

Admiring Mamma Dora's Christmas village.

Who is this guy dancing?
I love my Mamma Dora.
Merry Christmas!

Thanksgiving Catch-Up

It has been quite a while since I last blogged. I will try to catch you up on the next few blogs.
For Thanksgiving we did the annual squeeze in as much family time as possible. We began our day at Nikki's for some good ol' Thanksgiving feast. Iliana was able to spend some time with her cousins.
Iliana with her Grandpa Phil.
Notice here thumb in her mouth.
Here with Rhiannon's twins
Austin and Tyler.
After lunch we ran across town to meet with my parents. There Iliana enjoyed her cousin Daisy's company as well as lots of hugs and kisses from Mamma Dora and her Deddy Jesse (They feel too young to be grandma/g-pa.)

Daisy loves entertaining Iliana and
we love it because it gives us a bit of a break!
