What a way to end the month!

This past Monday was truly the scariest day of our lives. Iliana was not able to wake up on her own that morning. She was very lethargic and listless. I kept trying to wake her up but got no response. I called EMS and was told that she may have had a seizure. She had to be rushed to the ER. Upon arriving we were told that her glucose level was very low and her white blood cells were very high. Dr.'s suspected possible seizure, meningitis, or viral infection among other things. Our poor little Ili was so out of it that she had no reaction to the multiple attempts for an IV and Spinal Taps. She also had to undergo a CT Scan and an EEG to check her brain wave activity. Lots of wires hooked up to her little head. Oh my poor baby!!

We ended up staying at the hospital for 4 days with little to no answers as to what could have possibly caused our little girl to be so ill. We had a follow-up appointment on Friday and will now have to take Iliana in for further testing to rule out seizures and check to see what specifically may have caused her to have the symptoms she had.

Thank you so much to our dear friend Deb for her medical knowledge and patience. She kept checking with us between her surgeries to see Ili's status and keep us at ease. I think without her words Philip could've knocked out a Dr. or nurse. Hospitals can be so frustrating!

We are now safe and healthy at home. Ili is showing no signs that she was ever in the hospital. She is giggling, very playful and attempting to crawl. While we will probably never sleep at ease again, I am thankful that she is doing very well. Let's pray that February comes with more love, peace and much less stress!
